‘Captain’ Klas Åhman is a modern storyteller and songwriter from Stockholm, Sweden, who left his birth country for adventure, and a music career, and started a family in the USA. Captain Klas is known for his lyrics, mixing humor and seriousness, in songs that entertain and evoke emotion.

Klas Åhman first moved to New Mexico in 2005 and has since then continuously toured Europe and USA solo, and with his twin brother as Secret Circus. Klas gained his “Captain” title as a nickname from bands and musicians he works with as an audio engineer and videographer.

The live show of Captain Klas, be it with his band “Secret Circus”, or a scaled down acoustic solo set, is best described as eclectic. Klas combines traditional styles and genres, creating new bastard genres like; Baltic Country, Doom Pop, Death Jazz, Gangster Folk, etc, for describing his performance. Captain Klas has been gaining recognition among fans and peers for his thought provoking lyrical content, unique finger picking technique, big live sound, ambiguous persona, and Rock-star looks.

When not on tour, Klas spends most his time with his family working on their ranch in New Mexico, or working in his studio, which is his old tour bus, turned into a retro-futuristic hi-tech content and promo machine, and HQ for his production company “Third Eye Switch”.
